A new campaign aims to educate the public on the dangers of counterfeit Viagra and its potential for treating male impotence, according to a new report from the National Center for Health Statistics (NHS).
The report from the National Center for Health Statistics (NHS) was released by the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute of Health and the American Medical Association (AMA), which is responsible for the health of millions of people around the world.
The report, by researchers at New York University Langone Health, shows that counterfeit Viagra, containing sildenafil citrate, has been found in more than 2.5 million bottles of male sexual pills sold online and in some stores in Europe and the United States.
The counterfeit pills are typically available at a retail pharmacy or online. The FDA has approved a variety of sildenafil pills for sale. Viagra, which is known chemically as sildenafil citrate, is the active ingredient in the Viagra drug, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction.
The study, "The Natural Solution: How Viagra Works to Treat Erectile Dysfunction," has been published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine and is expected to be published later this month in the journal "Medicines" in January 2021.
"The findings from this report provide a new and valuable insight into the dangers of counterfeit Viagra and its potential for treating male impotence," said in a news release. "Our study will provide an important step in the public health and treatment of this common male sexual dysfunction."
The research is the first study to show the dangers of using Viagra to treat male impotence, which is a condition that affects millions of men worldwide.
The men in the study reported an average of one erection each week, while the average number of firmer erections was six, while the number of weak erections was five.
Researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and New York University will present the results at the meeting of the American Psychological Association, which is taking place in October.
"The findings show that counterfeiting of Viagra, in particular, could potentially lead to erectile dysfunction, particularly when taken in combination with alcohol or other drugs," said lead author Dr. James R. Kiely, a professor of epidemiology and epidemiology at New York University Langone Health.
The study is the latest in a series of studies that have focused on the interaction of sildenafil citrate with other erectile dysfunction medications and the results are being published in the journal "Medicines" in January 2021.
"The introduction of new medications, including the newer and more potent treatments for erectile dysfunction, could mean that the health care system will not be fully informed about the dangers of taking sildenafil citrate," Dr. Kiely said in the press release.
"The real question is why these men don't want to take Viagra. It may be because they believe that they are suffering from erectile dysfunction, which is a sexual disorder that affects millions of men," she said.
In addition to the researchers, the National Institute of Health and the American Medical Association also published a report last year that examined the potential risks of sildenafil citrate.
Researchers at New York University Langone Health and New York University School of Medicine are currently conducting their own research into the use of Viagra in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The research will be published in the journal "Journal of Sexual Medicine and Other Drugs," which is a peer-reviewed journal covering the latest research and developments in sexual medicine.
